It looks like the exterior shell construction is combination of polymer and metal. They recommend that you use a POLYMER mag catch (i.e., you don't have to upgrade to a metal mag catch like you do with the Shield Arms 15-round mag). I was having similar issues with the Shield Arms Mags. Had two Gen 2 then bought a Gen 3; same issue. I replaced the recoil spring with a tungsten, light spring from Glock Store and so far, no issues after 100 rounds. I’ll follow up after my second trip to the range. Like you, if the problem repeats, I’m going back to OEM.
